Moshi Moshi

Okay, so that's the extent of my Japanese! It translates roughly to hello but is used only when answering the phone (so my sources tell me).
Neal and Shizuka arrived on Tuesday. They were in Nova Scotia last week and return to Japan on Saturday. They brought Libby and I each a kimono (actually a summer kimono -it has a special name that I can't remember) and japanese sandals to wear with our kimono's.
We have had a great visit so far. Yesterday we went to IKEA (of course)! and then we took the subway downtown. It was Libby's first time on the subway. One thing we discovered is how incredibly inaccesable the subway is. They have elvators but they only go up one floor so at some stations you have to go in and out of 3 or 4 elevators to get to the street level...and of course everyone (and I mean everyone) want's to take the elevator - because it's so difficult to walk up an esclator - so we had to wait and wait and wait. Plus, only half of the subway stations have elevators! The rest just have lots and lots of stairs. Once we got out of the subway and got the stroller onto the street we had lots of fun. We wandered along Queen St. West to China Town and then up Spadina to Bloor past UofT. We also got to ride on all the subway lines, Bloor line, Yonge and University line (both sides of the loop) and the new Sheppard line!
Libby has also figured out how to suck her toe! Looks like it tastes good. She is also getting very good at eating cereal although she does talk with food in her mouth, we'll have to work on that later.
Today she started making bbbb sounds. Perhaps she is trying to say birthday....or maybe Brenda....hmmm...what is Libby trying to say :)

When I went to Toronto with my aunt and uncle (mom's brother) we learned very fast how to put the stroller on the escelator...just back it on if going down and put it forward if going up and it'll stay pretty good (makes for less elevator wating)
Glad to see Neil and Shizuka's visit!
